    The Jazzier Side of Fred Schneider

    Fred Schneider is a prolific singer-songwriter and DJ. He has recorded with The Superions and The Shake Society but is best known for his work with a band he formed with friends way back in 1976 with The B52’s; who had worldwide hits with songs like “Rock Lobster”, “Mesopotamia” and “Love Shack”.

    He is a big fan of all sorts of music -- the last time he visited Toronto, he popped into JAZZ.FM91 and created this podcast to share his love of jazz, soul and blues.

    DNA - Phil Dwyer

    Phil Dwyer shares some of the music that's shaped him personally and professionally through the years in Phil Dwyer's DNA.

    Phil Dwyer is a Jazz saxophonist, pianist, composer, producer and teacher. In 2013, he appointed as a Member of the Order Of Canada for “his contributions to jazz as a performer, composer and producer, and for increasing access to music education in his community.”

    Snarky Puppy Master Class

    Back in June, during the TD Toronto Jazz Festival, JAZZ.FM91 welcomed Michael League and Larnell Lewis of Snarky Puppy into the station for a Master Class.

    The JAZZ.FM91 Youth Big Band, our Jazzology students, listeners and donors were treated to an hour of answers and music, hosted by Dani Elwell. Our thanks to D’Addario, Yamaha, and Zildjian Cymbals, for the door prizes and goodies.
